VooDEW 2.0 was a Mountain Dew flavor released for the Halloween season 2020 as the second annual release flavor of the VooDEW series in the United States. In Fall 2022, this flavor, alongside 1.0 and 3.0, returned as the Ghosts of VooDEW Past in the online DEW Store for a limited time while supplies last.

VooDEW 2.0 was a Mystery Flavor of Mountain Dew and had a white look with a similar theme to Mountain Dew's other Halloween flavors.
Speculation[]
Since this VooDEW flavor was a Mystery Flavor, many people who have tried it have drawn comparisons to fruit-flavored candy or a candied fruit, such as a candy apple.
Clues[]
First clue: On August 26th, 2020, Mountain Dew posted a video on Twitter[1] and Instagram that offered a hint as to what the flavor for VooDEW 2.0 is. On the top right of the tree near the end of the video, the words "Andi Crufty" can get seen. From this, it can be interpreted as an anagram for either "Fruit Candy" or "Candy Fruit," indicating that the flavor of VooDEW 2.0 could be reminiscent of either a fruit-flavored candy or a candied fruit, such as a candy apple.
Second clue: On September 17th, 2020, Mountain Dew posted a video on Twitter[2], showing an old commercial featuring Willy the Hillbilly with having sudden flashes of static, a bottle design of VooDEW, and some sort of candy.

On October 31st, 2020, the official Mountain Dew Twitter account unveiled[3] VooDEW's 2.0 Mystery Flavor to be Fruit Candy Explosion.

2020 Limited Time retail release[]
On March 29th, 2020, in a r/MountainDew Reddit post[4], VooDEW 2.0 was first leaked by a PepsiCo employee named u/mtndewinsider[5] showing an image of a 20-ounce bottle of VooDEW 2.0. The PepsiCo employee described it "sent me over the rainbow!"[6]
According to a leaked release chart offered on the Dew Drinker Discord[7]. As of March 2020, VooDEW 2.0 was slated to release in period 10, indicating a time approximately from September 2020 to October 2020. It began appearing in stores across the United States in early September 2020, with widespread distribution expected later in late September 2020 to early October 2020.
It was officially released in stores in early September 2020, throughout the United States for a limited time in 12-packs and 20-ounce bottles until October 31st, 2020, the end of Halloween 2020, where after that, VooDEW 3.0 would succeed it in 2021.
2022 DEW Store release[]
On June 3rd, 2022, an anonymous PepsiCo employee stated that three VooDEW flavors would be releasing as a variety 16-ounce can six-pack, two cans of 1.0, three cans of 2.0, and one can of 3.0 as the Ghosts of VooDEW Past. It was available in the online DEW Store[8], Walmart[9], and Amazon[10] for a limited time while supplies last in fall 2022.
Trivia[]
- This flavor was the fourth Halloween-themed flavor to release, the first being Pitch Black (2004), the second being Pitch Black II (2005), the third being VooDEW 1.0, the fifth being VooDEW 3.0, the sixth being VooDEW 4.0, the seventh being VooDEW 5.0, and the eighth being VooDEW 6.0.
- Both Pitch Black II and VooDEW 2.0 share similarities in branded to their predecessors and are similar in the style of packaging and art style of their predecessors.
