Vanilla is a Mountain Dew flavor first released as a flavor shot in a test market release of a touchscreen soda fountain machine called Pepsi Spire (designed to compete with Coca-Cola's Freestyle machine) in 2013, where it has remained available since.
Description[]
Mountain Dew Vanilla is a Vanilla flavor of Mountain Dew and has a yellow-green look, similar to the Original Mountain Dew.
History[]
(2013 - Present) Pepsi Spire release[]
After Pepsi Fusion's test market release, PepsiCo decided to redesign Fusion's design into a simple modernized concept called Pepsi Spire, which is in many ways similar to the Coca-Cola Freestyle machines in style and appearance.
In 2013, PepsiCo once again conducted a test market release throughout various restaurants for a short period. After the testing period, PepsiCo decided to release the Pepsi Spire machines to select national and regional restaurants, gas stations, and other franchises. The flavors available in the Pepsi Spire machine were Cherry, Vanilla, Strawberry, and Lemon, for a total of four flavor shots.
