Sweet Lightning is a Mountain Dew flavor variant that is exclusively available in soda fountain machines only at KFC restaurants. It was first leaked via a trademark that was filed on March 4th, 2019. Its tagline is "DEW charged with Natural & Artifical Sweet Peach & Smooth Honey".
Description
Being yellow-orange in color, Sweet Lightning is a peach and honey flavored soda. Similar to the relationship of Baja Blast and Taco Bell, Sweet Lightning was chemically designed to taste its best with KFC's menu.
History
On March 4th, 2019, PepsiCo filed a trademark name, calling it Sweet Lightning. It was previously rumored that the flavor would be exclusively only available at KFC restaurant locations. Later in late-March 2019, The clear image showed that the flavor is at one of the KFC restaurant locations, proving the rumor to be true from the picture.
On March 31st, 2019, a high-quality image of Sweet Lightning was again later leaked online from a Reddit post by FightingCommander.
The flavor is currently released as a KFC-exclusive fountain drink and will be for the foreseeable future. Sweet Lightning was expected to be in all KFC restaurant locations nationwide by July 1st, 2019.
