Southern Shock

Southern Shock was a Franchise Exclusive Mountain Dew flavor available from June 2020 to January 2023 only at Bojangles restaurants.

Description[]

Southern Shock was a Tropical Punch flavor of Mountain Dew and had a red-orange look, similar in flavor and color to that of Solar Flare.

Tagline[]

Its tagline was "DEW with a Blast of Natural & Artificial Tropical Fruit Punch Flavor."

History[]

On April 4th, 2020, PepsiCo filed a trademark for Southern Shock titled "MTN DEW SOUTHERN SHOCK." A few weeks later, a r/MountainDew post held an update on Southern Shock's status. It announced that it would be a Bojangles exclusive and was planned to roll out on May 11th and expected to be in all Bojangles restaurants by June 26th of that year. However, the post didn't specify its flavor and label design.

It was officially released in Bojangles restaurants in the United States in June 2020, sold in fountain as a permanent flavor, and its flavor was later revealed to be a Tropical Punch flavor.

Discontinuation[]

In November 2022, it was speculated that Southern Shock would be discontinued. However, at this time there was currently no official word of its discontinuation from Bojangles's social networking team.

In January 2023, Southern Shock was removed from the Bojangles website's menu, making it officially discontinued.
