Pepsi Spire and Fusion Flavors are various syrup flavor shots offered by the touchscreen soda fountain machines that mix with Original Mountain Dew.
History[]
(2010) Pepsi Fusion test market release[]
In 2009, Coca-Cola released a touchscreen soda fountain called the Coca-Cola Freestyle. A year after, PepsiCo quickly responded with an equivalent touchscreen soda fountain called the Pepsi Fusion, designed to compete with Coca-Cola's Freestyle machine.
PepsiCo then conducted a test market release in 2010[1] in various restaurants for a short period of time. The flavors available in the Pepsi Fusion machine were Lemon, Lime, Grape, Orange, Cherry, Strawberry, Raspberry, and Wild Berry, for a total of eight flavor shots.
(2013 - Present) Pepsi Spire release[]
After Pepsi Fusion's test market release, PepsiCo decided to redesign Fusion's design into a simple modernized concept called Pepsi Spire[2], which is in many ways similar to the Coca-Cola Freestyle machines in style and appearance.
In 2013, PepsiCo once again conducted a test market release throughout various restaurants for a short period. After the testing period, PepsiCo decided to release the Pepsi Spire machines to select national and regional restaurants, gas stations, and other franchises. Raspberry, Lime, Grape, and Peach was added to the Pepsi Spire machine in 2025, joining the already existing Cherry, Vanilla, Strawberry, and Lemon, for a total of eight flavor shots.
