Mountain Dew Energy (Code Red) was based on the same flavor profile as its original counterpart but had 180 Milligrams of Caffeine (equal to approximately two cups of coffee), 5% Juice, Zinc, Vitamins A&C Antioxidants, and Zero (0 G) added Sugar.

2022 Limited-Time release[]
On May 20th, 2022, on the Dew Drinker Discord, Mountain Dew Energy (Code Red) was leaked first by a trustworthy PepsiCo employee who confirmed a September 2022 release window.
On June 9th, 2022, in a r/MountainDew Reddit post, Mountain Dew Energy (Code Red) was further leaked by a user named u/Whole_Job2709, who posted a photograph, displaying a 16-ounce test can on a wooden floor.
It was officially released in stores in September 2022 throughout the United States for a limited time in 16-ounce cans until October 2022. After its 2022 run, it was slated to release in 2023 for a limited time in the same release slot.
Canceled 2023 Limited-Time release[]
On September 2nd, 2022, on the Dew Drinker Discord, it was confirmed that Mountain Dew Energy (Code Red) and Mountain Dew Energy (Baja Blast) were slated for a limited-time re-release for their second run in 2023. Code Red's release was canceled, while Baja Blast's release was not.
