Kickstart Hydrating Boost (Energizing Watermelon)

Kickstart Hydrating Boost (Energizing Watermelon) was a Mountain Dew Kickstart flavor released in the United States on January 25th, 2016, alongside Blood Orange, Blueberry Pomegranate, and Grape. It was discontinued in 2019.

Description[]

Kickstart Hydrating Boost (Energizing Watermelon) was a Watermelon flavor of Mountain Dew and had a red-pink look, having a comparable tasting flavor and color to that of Major Melon and Flavor 648.

This flavor was an enhanced soft drink having Caffeine, 10% Juice, and Coconut Water.

History[]

Watermelon was released on January 25th, 2016 alongside Blood Orange, Blueberry Pomegranate, and Midnight Grape. While Midnight Grape (later shortened to Grape) is still available, Watermelon, Blueberry Pomegranate, and Blood Orange have all been discontinued in the years since their release.

Main article: Puppy Monkey Baby

When Midnight Grape was promoted in the Super Bowl 50, the other new Kickstart flavors also received an advertising promotion in various media due to PuppyMonkeyBaby.

In 2019, Watermelon, Blood Orange, and Ultra Original Dew received a design change, but was discontinued, and the redesigns never made it to store shelves.
