Kickstart (Energizing Orange Citrus)

Kickstart (Energizing Orange Citrus) is a Mountain Dew Kickstart flavor released in the United States on February 25th, 2013, alongside Fruit Punch as breakfast-themed drinks in contrast to the later-released nighttime-themed Black Cherry and Limeade flavors in Mid-January 2014.

Description[]

Kickstart (Energizing Orange Citrus) is an Orange Citrus flavor of Mountain Dew and has an orange look, having a comparable tasting flavor and color to that of LiveWire.

This flavor is an enhanced soft drink having Caffeine, 5% Juice, and B & C Vitamins.

History[]

This line initially consisted of two flavors, Fruit Punch and Orange Citrus. These two flavors were released on February 25th, 2013, as breakfast-themed drinks in contrast to the later-released nighttime-themed Black Cherry and Limeade flavors in Mid-January 2014.

As of 2024, the current Kickstart flavors here are as follows: Fruit Punch, Orange Citrus, Black Cherry, Pineapple Orange Mango, Grape, and Strawberry Start-Up.

International release[]

Canada[]

In 2015, following the American release of Kickstart (Energizing Orange Citrus), alongside Kickstart (Energizing Fruit Punch) were released in Canada.

Arabian countries[]

In 2016, Kickstart (Energizing Orange Citrus) and Black Cherry were both released in various Arabian countries (including Saudi Arabia and Qatar) and are known as Exciting Orange and Exciting Black Cherry. The flavors were presumably discontinued the following year, likely due to low sales. This Arabian release was the only Kickstart release that used the 2005 logo.

Australia[]

In March 2017, Kickstart (Energizing Orange Citrus) was released in Australian markets along with Midnight Grape and Limeade. However, the flavors were discontinued sometime the following year, possibly due to low sales.

Soda Fountain release[]

(2015 - 2022) Taco Bell[]

In March 2015, Kickstart (Energizing Orange Citrus) was released to Taco Bell restaurants, replacing Diet Baja Blast, where it has remained available ever since. However, in Mid-2022, it was discontinued and replaced with the Brisk Dragon Paradise tea flavor exclusive to Taco Bell.
