Description[]
Hard Black Cherry was a Black Cherry flavor in the Hard alcoholic lineup. Containing 5% alcohol, it was a non-caffeinated Malt beverage with Natural Flavors, Artificial Sweeteners (Sucralose & Acesulfame Potassium), Certified Color, Zero (0 G) added Sugar, and FD&C Yellow #5.
It was available in stores that sell beer individually in 24 oz. cans and smaller 12 oz. cans in a variety pack alongside Hard Mountain Dew, Watermelon, and Baja Blast.
History[]
This flavor was officially announced on August 10th, 2021 by the official Hard Mountain Dew Twitter account, alongside Hard Mountain Dew and Watermelon. The Twitter account then stated a tentative planned release date of February-March for 2022 for a limited number of states.
Alongside Original, Watermelon, and Baja Blast, it was released to stores on February 22nd, 2022 in three states (namely Florida, Tennessee, and Iowa). Before its discontinuation, it had been released in the states of Arkansas, Oklahoma, Minnesota, Missouri, Virginia, Ohio, and Illinois, in addition to the city of Las Vegas. After the planned discontinuation was known, it made its way to Arizona in the form of the Mix Pack.
2023 discontinuation[]
Fan speculation that Hard Black Cherry was being phased out started in early 2023. It was finally confirmed via Team Supernova on February 19th that Hard Black Cherry was planned to be the first flavor of Hard Mountain Dew to be discontinued.
Following its discontinuation, it was as of April 2023 still available in the Mix Pack until being placed by LiveWire 12 oz. cans in the Mix Pack in July that year.
Trivia[]
