On October 11th, 2021, a user on the [https://discord.gg/dew Dew Drinker Discord] found [https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/462857131369037826/897327915920949298/image0.png a listing] on PepsiCo's Contact site titled "Mtn Dew Game Fuel Soda Disrespect Citrus Cherry 16 Fl Oz Resealable Can". No renders were available at the time. It was assumed that it was a re-release of Citrus Cherry, with Dr. Disrespect branding. Dr. Disrespect already had a previous collaboration with Mountain Dew, promoting and appearing on limited edition design cans of another Game Fuel flavor, [[Game Fuel (Charged Cherry Burst)]]. 

No other information would come out about the flavor until December 11th, 2021, when renders of the flavor were discovered. This confirmed it as a Dr. Disrespect tie in flavor, as well as its final name, ''Championship Citrus Cherry''.   

Championship Citrus Cherry was teased on April 3-4, 2022, and was released on April 5th for a limited time only.
