Frost Bite is a Mountain Dew flavor that exclusively released in Walmart stores on March 23rd, 2020 as a permanent flavor. It was first leaked on the Dew Drinker Discord server from a Pepsi employee, and later in a Reddit post from user "mtndewinsider" on January 15th, 2020.
Description
Frost Bite is a flavor of Mountain Dew which is Sky Blue in color, and described as "a burst of icy refreshment and cool melon."
History
Frost Bite was initially leaked on the Dew Drinker Discord in December 2019. But people decided to not spread it around, preventing it to be canceled altogether just like last year's Happy Dew Year.
On January 15th, 2020, Frost Bite appeared in the r/MountainDew Reddit from a mysterious account called "mtndewinsider".
Officially, it was released in Walmart stores on March 23rd, 2020 throughout the United States as a permanent flavor in 12-packs, 16.9 ounce bottles, and 20 ounce bottles.
Trivia
- This flavor was leaked long before its release on the Dew Drinker Discord.
- This is a second time that a Mountain Dew flavor was able to be released exclusively in a store franchise. The first being Maui Burst with Dollar General stores.
- Frost Bite, at first, was originally planned to be released from March 2020 to June 2020 (presumably taking place of Baja Blast's standard promotion window). It was later changed to be an exclusive flavor for the rest of 2020 only in Walmart stores. After 2020, if this drink succeeds PepsiCo's expectations from this exclusive store franchise release, then it's status would change depending on sales.
