Darth Dew was released in 2005 as a limited-edition Slurpee flavor at participating 7-Eleven stores in the United States to promote the theatrical release of Star Wars Episode III - Revenge of the Sith. Limited-Edition cups were also available for this flavor, modeled after its namesake Darth Vader - a character from the movie.
Darth Dew was a Slurpee variant of Pitch Black, as indicated by the logo's similarity to Pitch Black's label art. Thus, Darth Dew was a grape-flavored beverage, and was dark purple in color.
- Along with Grape, Pitch Black II, Pitch Black, Kickstart (Energizing Midnight Grape) and X-Treme, this flavor was one of six grape flavored Mountain Dew variants.
- This was one of two Mountain Dew flavors that were used to promote a movie, the other one being Kryptonite Ice.
