History[]
On May 13th, 2024, a press release article announced[1] that Lotte Chilsung Beverage Co. launched a new flavor called "Mountain Dew Zero Sugar Blue" (마운틴듀 제로슈거 블루). It was pre-released as an online exclusive through the Naver Store[2] on April 29th, 2024, and was sold out early. It was released on the same day at other online shopping malls and supermarkets in South Korea nationwide in response to the Healthy Pleasure trend.
On May 22nd, 2024,[3] Team Supernova[4] announced that a new Zero Sugar flavor called Blue Zero Sugar had been released exclusively in South Korea as a tie-in with the movie IF and had a promotion[5] contest. He described it as a Lemon and Black Raspberry flavor while its artwork was derived from a U.S. Applebee's exclusive, Dark Berry Bash. He also mentioned that it has a similar flavor to Finland's Raspberry-Lemon flavored Supernova.
It is currently sold only in 24-packs of 355 mL cans,[6] and some people with their orders had received a Blue Zero Sugar-themed mousepad and a grip tok for their phones as a gift. It is currently unknown whether Blue Zero Sugar is a limited-time offering or a permanent addition to South Korea's flavor lineup.
