Baja Gold

Baja Gold was a Mountain Dew flavor released in Summer 2022 for a limited time alongside Baja Mango Gem, Baja Blast, and Baja Blast Zero Sugar in part for a promotion called The Lost Treasures of Baja Island.

Description[]

Baja Gold was a Pineapple flavor of Mountain Dew and had a yellow look, having a comparable tasting flavor and color to that of Maui Burst.

While Maui Burst tends to shift to a more natural Pineapple flavor, Baja Gold tends to lean toward the more artificial Pineapple flavor.

Tagline[]

Its tagline was "DEW with a Blast of Natural & Artificial Pineapple Flavor."

History[]

On January 4th, 2022, PepsiCo filed a trademark for Baja Mango Gem titled "MTN DEW BAJA MANGO GEM," along with other potential flavor names such as Astronova and Hypergalaxy. However, it is unknown if Baja Gold received a trademark that is known to the public.

On January 23rd, 2022, a cropped picture displaying two prototype bottles of Baja Gold and Baja Mango Gem was leaked on the Dew Drinker Discord.

On May 29th, 2022, a test site for The Lost Treasures of Baja Island was discovered, with the test site describing in detailed information about how the promotion will work.

It was officially released in stores in the United States on June 13th, 2022, for a limited time alongside Baja Mango Gem and was sold in 12-packs and 20-ounce bottles. Both flavors stayed on store shelves until September 4th, 2022, when The Lost Treasures of Baja Island promotion ended, and they were discontinued.

International release[]

Canada[]

In August 2022, similar to Baja Punch the previous year, Baja Gold was released in Canada in 591mL (U.S. 20-ounce) Sidekick bottles. However, its companion flavor Baja Mango Gem was not released in Canada.
