Game Fuel (Charged Orange Storm) was a Mountain Dew Game Fuel flavor released on October 20th, 2019, for a limited time as part for the Game Fuel Promotion to coincide with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. After the promotion, it was made permanent nationwide after its limited-time run.
Description[]
Game Fuel (Charged Orange Storm) was a Orange flavor of Mountain Dew and had a orange look. It had a comparable tasting flavor and color to that of Mountain Dew Energy (Orange Breeze).
It was a low-sugar energy drink having 90 Milligrams of Caffeine, Fruit Juice, 40% (20 G) added Sugar, Niacin, Pantothenic Acid, and Vitamins A&B6, similar to the Energy line.
History[]
On March 31st, 2019, Game Fuel (Charged Orange Storm) (formerly called Amp Game Fuel (Charged Orange Strike)) was first leaked by a PepsiCo Employee on the Dew Drinker Discord. Since the initial leak, there wasn't any known official release date.
On August 26th, 2019, it was leaked to have a name change from Amp Game Fuel (Charged Orange Strike) to Amp Game Fuel (Charged Orange Storm) and intended to be a permanent flavor in the first place.
On September 10th, 2019, PepsiCo confirmed in a press release that Amp Game Fuel (Charged Orange Storm) was planning to be released in October for a limited time as part for the Game Fuel Promotion to coincide with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
Amp Game Fuel (Charged Orange Storm) was officially released to stores in the United States on October 20th, 2019, as a permanent flavor, joining the four primary Amp Game Fuel flavors, and is available in 16-ounce resealable grip cans.
2021 Rename and Store discontinuation[]
In early 2021, a new Mountain Dew energy drink line called Mountain Dew Energy (at the time called RISE Energy) was released and replaced the Amp Game Fuel line in retail stores. Months prior to Late 2020, the Amp branding was dropped from the Game Fuel brand, making the now-called Game Fuel brand an online exclusive.
2023 Online discontinuation[]
In early 2023, online stores that had the Game Fuel line were out of stock for a long while, and there was speculation it was discontinued, but it wasn't confirmed until the official Mountain Dew website was overhauled, removing all references to or ability to purchase Game Fuel online, rendering it fully discontinued.
